The inception of Dry Slope Developers ApS grew naturally out of the last 15+ years of CEO Janus Hecht experiences with different dry slopes.
Coming from a country with no snow and no mountains and being a passionate skier believing skiing is a year round sport, he has developed a natural passion for year round dry slopes.
It started back around 2010, when he first tried a revolving slope at an indoor ski center in Copenhagen. Shortly after he was hired as a ski instructor. This evolved naturally into him becoming responsible for educating new ski instructors on how to teach on the revolving slope.
When he in 2016 helped start a ski team on a Danish boarding school, he recommended building a dry slope for everyday ski lessons and year-round skill training.
The dry slope worked beyond expectations, so he developed a vision for more and bigger dry slopes on the school – and a few years later they came into fruition. Janus functioned as the project leader.
These pivotal projects provided Janus with invaluable, hands-on experience across the entire spectrum of dry slope development – from initial concept and detailed slope design to crucial elements like irrigation, lighting, permissions, drainage, skiing textile installation and marketing strategies and material.
Seeing the potential of these hills other organisations in 2024 started to reach out to get Janus onboard with their projects and help them avoid common mistakes and get the most out of their own dry slope projects.
From the beginning in 2016 the skiing textile manufacturer Mr. Snow was chosen as the best option for all of the projects over competitors like Neveplast and Snowflex.
Having been a happy customer and weekly user of Mr. Snow materials since 2016, Dry Slope Developers therefore naturally chose to exapand the relationship with Mr. Snow.
